5TH YEAR is a dynamic musical duo formed by B. Cave and Dayne Black. Originating from a shared background in college baseball and a passion for music, 5TH YEAR was born from the synergy of their unique talents and experiences.

After meeting in Austin, TX, the duo quickly discovered a mutual respect for each other's musical abilities and began collaborating on various projects. Their journey together has seen them produce a mix of hip-hop, indie, and introspective tracks, blending their individual styles into a cohesive and innovative sound that is a blend of hip-hop, indie, and R&B.

Their connection deepened during a transformative week in Los Angeles, where they created the bulk of their debut EP RUNNING LATE. They both bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the music scene, pushing the boundaries of their craft.
